I went to Seaworld, and sat and enjoyed the Orca show, first time as Believe back in 2007, not once, but 3 times over the years. You are drawn to the whales and also to the trainers who have lived with the animals & love them, yet risk their lives.

This film is geared to get the viewer angry, and it does that by giving many examples of how SeaWorld knew what they were doing was wrong, but still lied about it to cover their own tracks. Blackfish is a well-edited and intriguing documentary, which delivers its message in a subtle yet memorable way.

Shocking, never-before-seen footage and riveting interviews with trainers and experts manifest the orca's extraordinary nature, the species' cruel treatment in captivity over the last four decades, and the growing disillusionment of workers who were misled and endangered by the highly profitable sea-park industry. I learnt a lot from this both about Orcas themselves as well as the inhumanity of keeping them cooped up, away from their family pod with sometimes tragic results. What shocked and saddened me is the clear lack of ethics displayed by Seaworld, sure they're a business and want to make money but I would hope that the welfare of the animals (and their staff!) I, like many, have visited 'Sea World' and been awestruck by the spectacle of their shows. Magnolia Pictures After seeing this documentary, it would probably make you think twice about SeaWorld. A troubling expos of Sea World's hazardous entertainment trade. February 26, 2019 Anyone planning a visit to Sea World, perhaps this will make you think twice and if it doesn't there's very little hope for the human race I watched Blackfish about a week ago and yet I still think of it regularly and feel disturbed by what I learnt from it.
